CANARAIL continues to look for seasoned railway professionals who have acquired years of experience working for railways and who are interested in consulting assignments be it in Canada or on international projects. Assignments vary from short term to longer term duration. Some of the positions are permanent and located in our head office in Montreal; others can be contractual assignments located in Canada or other parts of the world.

Desired disciplines include:
  • Railway operations (planning, modeling, scheduling etc.);
  • Civil engineering (alignment design for freight, passenger and urban systems; project managers, bridge engineers, track engineers, etc.);
  • Mechanical engineering (locomotive, cars – passenger & freight, workshop design);
  • Procurement;
  • Signal engineering;
  • Telecommunications engineering;
  • Intelligent systems engineering.

    Human Resource Manager/Recruiter  5-10 HR designation Dealing with all aspects of HR management. Experience in international recruitment a definite asset.
    Senior Alignment Engineer  10+ Civil Engineer Experienced in railway alignment (LRT, metro, railways)
    Signaling Engineers  10+ Electrical Engineer Knowledge of railway signaling systems; membership in professional association of signals engineers; ERTMS desirable
    Electrification Engineer  10+ Electrical Engineer Power supply, catenary installations
    Mechanical Engineer  10+ Mechanical engineering degree Experienced in locomotives or railway cars maintenance and design; specifications preparations; workshop design.
    Transportation Economist  10+ Economics degree Seasoned transport economist with international experience
    Junior Engineers  2-5 Civil engineering degree  

    Bilingualism for all candidates is highly desirable, but for the HR Manager a must.
