JUNIOR ENGINEER (TRACK AND/OR STRUCTURE)

Description of responsibilities

CANARAIL is looking for a Junior Engineer interested in working in the railway sector. In this role, you will participate in civil engineering or infrastructure projects (track, bridges, tunnels), under the guidance of senior railway engineers.

The right person will have the relevant engineering degree, excellent writing skills in French and in English, be willing to travel; open to multidisciplinary tasks and assignments; and flexible.



CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Position: Full time employee.
Place of work: Montreal.

We currently have several openings for a Civil Engineering Technician who will provide AutoCAD drafting for the Civil Engineering Design Group.

Description of responsibilities

• Production of technical drawings;
• Generate layouts originating from conceptual sketches;
• Revise existing drawings with little or no supervision;
• Support the project team in developing project cost estimates.

Desired profile and qualifications

• Collegiate degree in Civil Engineering (D.E.C.);
• 1 to 5 years of experience in AutoCAD software (version 2004 and higher);
• 1 to 5 years of experience in plan layouts and presentation of detailed cross-sections;
• Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent is an asset;
• Be able to communicate in French and in English;
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint desirable;
• Ability to read and understand topographical maps is a definite asset;
• Familiarity with the railway sector particularly rail alignment design is of particular interest.
