Locomotive Maintenance Services

CANARAIL’s mandate is to plan, prepare, assist in the procurement of spare parts and workshop equipment, to supervise the rehabilitation of ENR locomotives and to train ENR employees. CANARAIL has been working closely with ENR’s management to write the specifications for the locomotive rehabilitation and modernisation, to prepare tender documents for the procurement of spare parts, to evaluate bids from potential suppliers, then to award procurement contracts. Once spare parts are procured, CANARAIL will be fully involved in the supervision and execution of the rehabilitation and modernisation of the locomotives followed by one year of maintenance. To do so, CANARAIL will hire 170 ENR employees directly from ENR.
