Computer Assisted Communications Based Train Dispatching System

CANARAIL's telecommunications expert reviewed the Computer Assisted Communications Based Train Dispatching Systems (CACBTDS) available on the market. Various consulting firms were requested to submit their relevant experience along with an expression of interest. Study Trips were organized in North America and South Africa to allow the Railway Executives to evaluate existing systems. Detailed discussions were held to assess CAMRAIL specific needs. Tender documents were prepared for the selection of a Consulting Firm to supply and install a CACBTDS and to prepare tender documents for the supply and installation of a dispatcher-to-train radio system.
